Remembering Dr. Dine

Dr. Mark Dine

It is with great sadness that we share with our Pediatric Care family the passing of our beloved founder, Dr. Mark Dine. Pediatric Care had its beginnings when Dr. Dine opened an office in a tiny red brick house on Winton Road in Finneytown in 1956. The practice has grown over the past 60 years, but has always stayed true to Dr. Dine’s vision.

Dr. Dine was more than a dedicated physician— he was a man of many talents— enjoying theater, gardening, travel and always, always learning. He was a relentless diagnostician, medical researcher, mentor, colleague and friend. In his sixty years of practice he set a high standard for patient care, challenging all around him to do better. Mark could always be counted on to bring in the latest articles on medical research, ethics and the ripple effects of EHR, and was persistent in encouraging us to publish a clinical case study or research.

His influence extended to decades of residents in family practice and pediatrics. Mark led Pediatric Care as the best leaders do- by example. He could always be counted upon to put patient needs first. Often his first "prescription" for a new family was to go on a date. His advice on his way out the door for many families was "Go home and be well."

We will miss him, but his legacy will live on.
